Basement Rooms

Many people utilize their basements as a family room or rec room - but it doesn't always stop at that - many have full bathrooms as well as bedrooms and even kitchens. The challenge is the fact that many basement floors are exposed to water that leaks in through the floor or walls and sometimes even the ceiling. Carpet is an option because if it gets wet, it can usually be dried. Ceramic or porcelain tile is also a great option, as water will not affect them. If the water problem is not bad, you can use a free floating laminate style floor with a moisture barrier. You should stay away from vinyl or hardwoods.
